A declaration produced at the end of the intra-Afghan conference in Moscow will not be presented to the Afghan government, the country's former foreign minister, Rangin Dadfar Spanta, told Sputnik on Tuesday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th February, 2019) A declaration produced at the end of the intra-Afghan conference in Moscow will not be presented to the Afghan government, the country's former foreign minister, Rangin Dadfar Spanta, told Sputnik on Tuesday.

"No. As you know, the absence of the Afghan government is the big lack of the combination of this intra-Afghan dialogue," Spanta said.

Earlier in the day, a member of the organizing committee of the conference, Omar Nessar, told Sputnik that the meeting's participants had decided to create a working committee to draft an agreement on the outcomes of the conference.

Moscow is hosting a two-day conference on Afghan peace settlement on Tuesday and Wednesday. The meeting brings together Afghan negotiators led by former President Hamid Karzai, representatives of Afghan diasporas in different countries and a Taliban delegation. The consultations have been organized by representatives of the Afghan diaspora in Russia in an effort to end decades-long conflict in the country.
