MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd February, 2019) Creation of a ground-based hypersonic medium-range missile in Russia will take about two years, member of the Russian upper house's security and defense committee Frants Klintsevich told Sputnik on Saturday.Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he had agreed with the proposal of the Russian Defense Ministry to start work on creating a ground-based hypersonic mid-range missile.
"This is a very difficult process. But we have a lot of groundwork, including those based on the Soviet missiles. I am sure that such missiles can be created in the near future. I think, we will have a model within two years," Klintsevich said.
Klintsevich also stressed that the United States and European countries already had such missiles, which is a serious threat to the national security of Russia.
