German Chancellor Angela Merkel will travel to Bratislava next week for talks with prime ministers of Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, her spokesman said on Friday

BERLIN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st February, 2019) German Chancellor Angela Merkel will travel to Bratislava next week for talks with prime ministers of Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, her spokesman said on Friday.

"Angela Merkel will go to the Slovak capital of Bratislava for a one-day visit on February 7. She will hold talks with Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini," Steffen Seibert told reporters.

At the bilateral meeting with Pellegrini, Merkel plans to discuss a wide range of matters, from bilateral and economic issues to European and foreign policies, the spokesman said.

Later that day, they will be joined for lunch by Polish, Hungarian and Czech prime ministers, whose countries make up the Visegrad Group, a regional bloc which Seibert credited with contributing to the reunification of Germany in 1990.
