Minister of Health meets German State Secretary of Economic Affairs, Irish Minister of Health, and Swedish Ambassador

Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, has held several meetings, which were attended by Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, as well as assistant under-secretaries, and Dr. Salem Al Darmaki

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 30th Jan, 2019) Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, has held several meetings, which were attended by Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, as well as assistant under-secretaries, and Dr. Salem Al Darmaki.

Al Owais first met Katrin Schuetz, German State Secretary in the Ministry of the Economic Affairs and the accompanying delegation.

The meeting discussed mutual cooperation and health challenges, as well as facilitating the treatment of Emirati patients in Germany. The parties also discussed latest developments in pharmaceuticals, where Al Owais explained the ministry's achievements in studies and research based on smart analysis tools, to promote early detection and prevention, as well as providing a supportive environment for research and prepare qualified Emirati staff to work in the health research sector.

Al Owais also met James Daly, Ireland’s Minister of State for Mental Health and Older People. The parties discussed mutual cooperation and means to leverage Irish expertise in the healthcare and pharmaceuticals sectors, as well as attracting Irish doctors to the Ministry of Health and Prevention and training nursing staff.

During the meeting, Al Owais discussed the latest innovations in the healthcare industry, as well as the ministry’s initiatives and projects, as well as prospects of cooperation with Ireland. Both parties also reviewed best practices and the ministry's efforts to develop the necessary technology of healthcare system management in the UAE.

Al Owais also met Henrik Landerholm, Swedish ambassador to the UAE, and discussed means to boost mutual relations between the countries and leveraging Swedish expertise in pharmaceuticals. Both parties discussed the scientific milestones achieved by the Ministry of Health and Prevention in research, by utilising Artificial Intelligence, genetics, and early detection technologies, as part of the national strategy, to promote the leadership of the UAE’s health sector. The discussions also touched on ways to leverage the Swedish expertise in pharmaceuticals and the cooperation between the UAE and Expo 2020.

The Swedish Ambassador briefly explained the healthcare services provided by health companies in Sweden and the healthcare system. The discussion also included various health-related topics, to promote the quality of healthcare services and prevention efforts.
