BRUSSELS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th January, 2019) Around 10,000 people are taking part in a march for protection of environment on Sunday, held in the Belgian capital, the Rise for Climate citizen movement, the organizer of the demonstration, said.
Some 34,000 people have indicated on the event's Facebook page that they intended to attend it. The march, organized with support from the Greenpeace and Climate Express environmental organizations, calls on the EU entities and lawmakers to take more action on tackling climate change.
On Thursday, Brussels was the site of a YouthforClimate march, which attracted 35,000 students, an unprecedented number of attendees for such type of processions, according to media reports.
