MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th January, 2019) Renowned French composer Michel Legrand, the winner of three academy Awards and five Grammys, has passed away at the age of 86, Le Monde newspaper reported on Saturday, citing his spokesperson.
Legrand wrote scores for such acclaimed films as The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and The Thomas Crown Affair, for which he was awarded his first Oscar.
His other credits include Jean-Luc Godard's My Life to Live and Band of Outsiders as well as Jacques Demy's The Young Girls of Rochefort.
The composer has been married three times and has four children.
