Islamabad (Pakistan Point News - 25th Jan, 2019) Encouraging the facilitation of overseas Pakistanis willing to invest in the country, Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, said that Pakistan and Azad Kashmir has provides huge potential for investors in numerous sectors like industry, tourism, mineral extraction, construction and energy. The President made these remarks during a call by Mr. Ghulam Mustafa, President Overseas Pakistani Investment Convention (OPIC), Mr.

Syed Tabay Hamdani and Fahad Javed, who also briefed the President on the upcoming OPIC 2019 Event to be held in Islamabad. The delegation informed that this event will help in facilitating and providing an opportunity to overseas Pakistanis to come forward and learn and learn about the Government’s policy relating to investment especially in the real estate, tourism, industrial sectors within Pakistan. He said that our aim is to present a soft image of Pakistan by promoting positive aspects like tourism, trade, hospitality and performing arts.

They informed that with the investment event is being organized in collaboration with Punjab Board of Investment and Trade. This Convention will bring forth important aspects of the potential for overseas Pakistanis as a whole and invite them to build their stakes further in the socio-economic development of Pakistan. President Masood Khan commended the efforts of the OPIC management for this very positive step towards encouraging overseas Pakistanis in investing in Pakistan.

The President said that it is necessary to facilitate overseas Pakistanis willing to investing in Pakistan and AJK. He said that on the same model already present in Punjab, Azad Kashmir is also planning to set up an AJK Overseas Commission to help provide one window operations and services for overseas Kashmiris. The President being an advocate of bringing in investment to AJK said that Azad Kashmir has massive potential for investors in developing modern tourist facilities, promoting Kashmiri handicraft, small and medium-sized industries, and establishment of software houses, power generation projects, the extractive industry, agriculture, horticulture and herbal medicines.

President Azad Kashmir said that the AJK Government will actively participate in the OPIC Investment Convention and will positively promote investment opportunities present in Azad Kashmir. He said that such activities are pertinent to instil a sense of confidence among overseas Pakistanis in directing the investments towards Pakistan.
