Russia's energy giant Gazprom will allocate 147.5 billion rubles ($2.2 billion) for the construction of Power of Siberia natural gas pipeline, the company said

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th January, 2019) Russia's energy giant Gazprom will allocate 147.5 billion rubles ($2.2 billion) for the construction of Power of Siberia natural gas pipeline, the company said.

According to the statement, 117.1 billion rubles will be spent on the construction of the linear pipeline section and 30.4 billion rubles will be spent on building gas-compressor stations.

In late November, Gazprom adjusted the 2018 investment estimate for the construction of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline to stand at 219 billion rubles.

In 2014, Gazprom signed a 30-year framework agreement with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) for annual deliveries of 38 billion cubic meters (1.341 trillion cubic feet) of Russian gas through the Power of Siberia pipeline. Gas supplies are expected to commence on December 20, 2019.

The pipeline will also transport gas from production centers in Irkutsk and Yakutia to consumers in Russia's Far East.
