Sharjah Ruler receives Hankuk University’s delegation

SHARJAH, (Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jan, 2019) H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Arabic Language academy in Sharjah, on Tuesday received a delegation from the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Korea, headed by Myung Keun OH, Dean of the University’s College of Asian Languages and Cultures.

At the meeting, the Sharjah Ruler exchanged cordial talks with the delegation on a number of cultural and scientific issues of mutual interest, especially in the Arabic language field.

Sheikh Sultan praised the visit of the Hankuk University’s delegation, affirming the significant role of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah in supporting the Hankuk University's programmes, aiming to improve the teaching and learning of the Arabic language and its sciences and literature.

Sharjah Ruler was briefed by the visiting delegation on the Hankuk University’s departments, where more than 45 foreign languages are taught, including the Arabic Language Department, which was founded in 1965, and specialised in Arabic and Islamic languages and cultures.

He also discussed with the delegation various ways of enhancing cooperation in the scientific fields, especially in teaching and learning the Arabic language to non-Arabic speakers.

The Ruler of Sharjah received a number of publications of the Hankuk University in Arabic.

The Hankuk University’s delegation expressed their appreciation to Sheikh Sultan for his unlimited support in developing the scientific, practical, and cultural experience of the emirate of Sharjah, which enabled it to be the capital of Arab and Islamic cultures.
