Nord Stream AG Says Transported Record 58.8Bln Cubic Meters Of Gas In 2018

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 19th January, 2019) Nord Stream pipeline system, transported 58.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas to European consumers in 2018, the largest result since the start of operations, Nord Stream AG said Friday.

"In 2018 Nord Stream AG transported 58.8 billion cubic metres (bcm) [over 2,000 cubic feet] of natural gas to consumers in Europe through the Nord Stream pipeline, representing both an annual increase and the highest utilization since the start of operations," the company said in a press release.

In 2017, the Nord Stream pipeline transported 51 billion cubic meters of Russian natural gas to Europe, which means that the volumes of transported gas increased in 2018 by 15.3 percent.

The Nord Stream pipeline connects Russia and Germany via the Baltic Sea and has already transported 264.1 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe since 2011.

Russia's Gazprom and its foreign partners are currently constructing the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline that will further increase exports of Russian gas to Europe.
