MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th January, 2019) Moscow wants to hear the position of new UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen on the Syrian constitutional committee during his visit to Moscow on January 21, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Friday.
"We told our colleagues that on Monday we would host new UN Special Envoy for Syria, Mr. Pedersen, and we will be interested to hear from him how he plans to start the work of the constitutional committee, especially since he just visited Damascus and held talks with the Syrian leadership," Lavrov said after talks with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas.
