BEIRUT (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th January, 2019) The summit of the League of Arab States, focused on economic and social development, began in Beirut on Thursday with a session of a committee of specialized delegations.The committee discussed the summit agenda and the report on the implementation of resolutions adopted at previous summits.
The meeting was chaired by Hussein Al-Shawish, the Saudi deputy finance minister in charge of international finance issues.
The official opening of the summit is scheduled for later on Thursday, followed by a meeting of official delegations and senior officials.
