Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived in Russia for his first official visit to the country, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Monday, specifying that his plane landed at Moscow's Vnukovo-2 Airport

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th January, 2019) Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived in Russia for his first official visit to the country, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Monday, specifying that his plane landed at Moscow's Vnukovo-2 Airport.

Zimbabwean Ambassador in Russia Mike Nicholas Sango; Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov; and Igor Bogdashev, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's State Protocol Department, welcomed Mnangagwa upon his arrival, with the Russian and the Zimbabwean national anthems being played.

The Zimbabwean leader will spend two days in Russia.

Sango said that Mnangagwa was set to hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Dmitry Mazepin, the head of the Russia-Zimbabwe business council, the Zimbabwean leader is also going to hold talks on projects carried out in Zimbabwe that might be interesting for the Russian business.
