MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th January, 2019) The Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Syrian Reconciliation said on Friday that it had registered one ceasefire violation in Syria's Latakia province, committed by militants operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone.
"Despite the ceasefire regime being established in the Idlib de-escalation zone, the shelling of Ardash-Dag settlement in Latakia province has been registered," the center said in a bulletin.
The reconciliation center has reiterated its call on the militants to join the ceasefire regime and contribute to the conflict settlement in the areas they control.
Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations. Russia along with Turkey and Iran are guarantors of the ceasefire regime in Syria.
