Irked at Fayyaz Ul Hassan Chohan’s offensive remarks, journalists boycott his media talk

The journalists raised slogans against him and demanded an apology.

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 9th January, 2019) Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Fayyaz Ul Hassan Chohan tried talking to the media outside Punjab Assembly on Wednesday after he termed it shameless yesterday.

The journalists, angry at the minister’s comments boycotted the media talk.

The journalists raised slogans against him and demanded an apology for ridiculing media persons.

At this, the minister left without talking to the media.

Fayyaz Ul Hassan Chohan had on Tuesday got offended to a question by a reporter regarding the progress made on implementing the welfare state model like of Riyasat-e- Madina.

When the reporter asked him about the comment made by Jamaet-e-Islami chief Siraj-ul-Haq that the government’s slogan of building Riyasat-e-Madina is hollow, the provincial minister was visibly irked.

Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan was present at a special event organized to remember late JI leader Qazi Hussain Ahmed. The minister said that such a question should have been asked from the JI chief, adding that the media ‘shameless’ and does not see the event.

The reporters were offended by the remarks and protested against the minister.
