UPDATE - Russia Records 1 Ceasefire Violation In Syria's Aleppo City - Russian Military

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th January, 2019) The Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria said Tuesday that over the past 24 hours, it registered a ceasefire breach in Syria's Aleppo city.

"Despite the ceasefire regime being established throughout the country, there are still cases of ceasefire regime violation by illegal armed formations in the Idlib de-escalation zone. Over the past 24 hours, they attacked the northwestern outskirts of Aleppo," head of the center Lt. Gen. Sergei Solomatin said.

The center also made one humanitarian delivery in the Damascus province, delivering 500 food sets to those in need.

Earlier in the day, the military police of the Russian Armed Forces said it began patrolling the territory in the Manbij area in the Syrian province of Aleppo near the Turkish border.

"Since January 7, 2019, Russian military police units started patrols along 5 km [3.1 miles] security zone near Manbij city on the al-Arimah - Yulanli - Saydiyah - Dali Fa'r - Bawz Kij route 27 km long," Solomatin added.

Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups and militant and terrorist organizations. Russia, along with Turkey and Iran, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been providing humanitarian aid to residents of the crisis-torn country.
