Russian Sport Ministry Expects WADA Experts to Visit Moscow to Extract Lab Data Jan 9

The Russian Sport Ministry expects that experts from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) would visit to the Russian capital on Wednesday in order to eventually extract the data of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory, Russian Sport Minister Pavel Kolobkov said on Monday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th January, 2019) The Russian Sport Ministry expects that experts from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) would visit to the Russian capital on Wednesday in order to eventually extract the data of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory, Russian Sport Minister Pavel Kolobkov said on Monday.

"Over the last three months, WADA, RUSADA [the Russian Anti-Doping Agency], and the Russian Investigative Committee have carried out large-scale organizational work on providing the data of the Moscow laboratory. This involved coordination of many procedural questions, including the list of the equipment used. As of now, all the technical matters have been coordinated. And we're waiting for the arrival of experts, whose visit is scheduled for January 9," Kolobkov said, as quoted by the sports Ministry.

On September 20, 2018, the WADA Executive Committee voted to reinstate RUSADA as compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code following a doping scandal. The agency required Russia to provide access to the data and samples of Moscow anti-doping laboratory by December 31, 2018.

Since a WADA mission arrived in Moscow in December but did not manage to complete the task in time, WADA said on January 1 that Russia had not provided access to the Moscow laboratory data by the set deadline. The agency said that its Compliance Review Committee would present recommendations to the WADA Executive Committee on the situation with RUSADA after a meeting in mid-January.
