CAIRO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th January, 2019) An Egyptian police officer was killed while trying to defuse an explosive device near a church in Cairo, media reported.
Another police officer was injured during the operation, according to the Sky news Arabia broadcaster.
The explosive device was in a bag that was discovered by the police close to the church, the tv channel reported,
The device went off when the officers were checking the bag.
The Egyptian television reported that the country's prosecutor's office had launched an investigation into the incident.
Police cordoned off the area near the church and are searching the neighborhood.�
