BUENOS AIRES (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 04th January, 2019) The Guatemalan authorities are waiting for the United States to provide final forensic examination results of an eight-year-old migrant boy who died in the custody of US border officials last month, Oscar Padilla, the Guatemalan consul in Arizona, told Sputnik on Friday.

Autopsy revealed on December 28 that Felipe Gomez was tested positive for Influenza B, according to the Health Sciences Center of the University of New Mexico. But an official cause of the boy's death has not been determined yet.

"We expect a medical expert to conclude the examination and, once it happens, [the boy's] body to be delivered to Guatemala," Padilla said.

Felipe Gomez was the second child to die in US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) custody in December. On December 8, a seven year-old Guatemalan girl died two days after she was apprehended together with her father for illegally entering the United States.
