LHC gives Sheikh Zayed Hospital’s charge to federal government

The hospital was running under provincial government for six years and the court has now shifted its charge to the centre.

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 3rd January, 2019) The Lahore High Court (LHC) has shifted the charge of Sheikh Zayed Hospital to Federal government from provincial government.

The hospital was running under provincial government for six years and the court has now shifted its charge to the centre.

A three member Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar had in April, 2018 heard the case regarding illegal appointment in Sheikh Zayed Hospital. During the hearing, the CJP had directed to wind up the pending cases in the High Court in one week.

The court had ordered to review the shifting of this hospital’s charge to the federal government.

“The hospital was shifted to provincial government after 18th amendment. Why shouldn’t we take charge of the hospital ourselves and dissolve the board of governors,” the CJP had said.
