The US destroyer Porter arrived in the Turkish city of Aksaz on Tuesday for a regular scheduled port visit while conducting its sixth naval forces patrol in the US 6th Fleet area of operations, the Navy said in news release on Wednesday.
WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd January, 2019) The US destroyer Porter arrived in the Turkish city of Aksaz on Tuesday for a regular scheduled port visit while conducting its sixth naval forces patrol in the US 6th Fleet area of operations, the Navy said in news release on Wednesday."The ship's patrol is a demonstration of the US Navy's continued commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships in the European and African region," the news release said.
The Porter, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, will conducted naval operations in support of US national security interest in Europe on its patrol, the Navy said.
The US 6th Fleet, which is headquartered in Naples, Italy, is responsible for operations in Europe and Africa.
