Ukrainian-EU Trade Increased 40% Over 3 Years - President Poroshenko

Ukrainian-EU trade has increased by 40 percent over the three years of the free trade area between the country and the bloc, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Wednesday.

KIEV (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd January, 2019) Ukrainian-EU trade has increased by 40 percent over the three years of the free trade area between the country and the bloc, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Wednesday.

"Over three years of the free trade area, our trade with the European Union has increased by 40 percent," Poroshenko wrote on his Twitter page.

The Ukrainian president pointed out that the country's priorities in development of trade with the European Union envisaged more customs cooperation, signing an agreement on assessment of industrial products as well as adaptation of legislation on phytosanitary measures.

The EU-Ukrainian Association Agreement, which created a free trade zone between Kiev and Brussels, was signed in 2014 and entered into force in 2016.
