PIA directs cabin crew to lose weight

The airline staff found over weight will be grounded.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 1st January, 2019) The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has directed its cabin crew to lose weight.

According to details, a circular issued by the PIA authorities said that air hostess should lose their weight by 25 Pounds till February 1.

The PIA further directed air hostesses to lose 20 more pounds in March, 15 in April, 10 in May and 5 pounds in June.

The airline staff found over weight will be grounded.

According to the conditions of the PIA, the air hostess of 5’5 height should not weigh more than 150 pounds.

The PIA staff is concerned over these directives. They asked how they will be able to lose as much as 25 pounds in a month.

The air hostesses said that they will challenge the directives if the circular is not withdrawn.

Earier, the PIA terminated the services of three pilots and 50 cabin crew members for having fake degrees.

The employees were dismissed on the instructions of the Supreme Court in a fake degrees case.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar had taken notice of alleged appointment of pilots holding fake qualifications in January this year.

Meanwhile, CAA Director General Hassan Baig also issued directives to suspend the licenses of fake-degree-holder pilots and cabin crews in light of the Supreme Court's direction.

The CAA DG also ordered to extend the defect liability period of all the contractors of Islamabad International Airport for six months owing to their non-satisfactory performance.

Earlier, he had directed to extend the defect liability period of the contractor of boarding bridges of Islamabad Airport M/s Adelte for one year because of their disappointing performance.
