Russia's Putin Briefed On High-Rise Blast In Magnitogorsk

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 31st December, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin has been briefed on the blast that collapsed part of a 10-storey apartment building in Magnitogorsk, his press office said.

"Vladimir Putin has been immediately informed about the tragedy in Magnitogorsk," the president's press office told reporters.

The president has ordered the emergencies and health ministers to take action. Emergencies chief� Yevgeny Zinichev is on his way to the city in the southern Urals, according to the president's press office.

Putin has ordered Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova to do everything in her powers to assist those injured and bereaved families.

At least two people died when the blast tore down a section of the building early on Monday. The Emergencies Ministry told Sputnik that 48 apartments, housing 110 people, had been damaged.

The Federal security agency said to Sputnik that the most probable cause of the blast was detonation of natural gas. "We are not looking into other causes," the source added.
