MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th December, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin wished a happy New Year to the Cuban leadership and noted the strategic nature of the bilateral partnership, the Kremlin press service said.
"In the congratulatory addresses to Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Raul Castro on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the revolution in Cuba as well as New Year and Christmas, the Russian president said that Cuba is a strategic partner and reliable ally of Russia," the statement said.
Putin noted that bilateral relations are on the rise, which was confirmed by the recent visit of the Cuban leader to Moscow. In addition, Putin said that he expects to continue active joint work on the bilateral and international agenda and sent wishes of well-being and prosperity to the leadership and the friendly people of Cuba.
