Putin Says Has No Specific Plans For New Year Holidays, May Go Skiing Or Play Hockey

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th December, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday that he did not have any specific plans for New Year holidays, adding that he would stay in Moscow and perhaps would play hockey or go skiing.

Earlier on Saturday, the Russian president participated in a friendly hockey game that took place at an ice rink located on the Red Square. Along with Putin, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and the country's prominent hockey figures Pavel Bure, Vyacheslav Fetisov and Aleksei Kasatonov participated in the hockey game.

"I do not have any specific plans, I'll be here, in Moscow, and then we will see, maybe I'll play hockey or go skiing, we will see," Putin said in an interview with Russia's Rossiya 24 tv channel.

The Russian president also said it was a pleasure playing the friendly hockey match.

"[The game] once again reminds us what [our hockey legends] did for the development of hockey, for the Russian sport, and provides an opportunity to thank them for their contribution to the development of Russian sports," Putin said.

Putin indicated that playing hockey ahead of the New Year was a particular pleasure.
