Almost 6.8Mln Russians Watched Live Coverage of Putin's Annual Press Conference - Study

Almost 6.8 million Russian nationals watched the live stream of Russian President Vladimir Putin's annual press conference last week, and over 15 million people watched the event for at least one minute, a study carried out by Mediascope research company revealed.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th December, 2018) Almost 6.8 million Russian nationals watched the live stream of Russian President Vladimir Putin's annual press conference last week, and over 15 million people watched the event for at least one minute, a study carried out by Mediascope research company revealed.

The press conference was held on December 20 and lasted for three hours and 43 minutes. The president answered a total of 66 questions from media representatives.

According to the results of the survey, a total of 6,789,560 Russians over the age of four watched the press conference live, while 15,011,634 people watched it for at least one minute. This year's figures marked a slight decline compared to the 2017 press conference, when the broadcast was followed by 7,083,875 Russians.

The largest-ever number of viewers � 7,921,595 people � was registered in 2014, and the longest run time of four hours and 40 minutes was recorded in 2008.

Putin began the tradition of year-end press conferences in 2001 during his first presidential term. Fourteen pressers have been held so far.
