MINSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th December, 2018) The office of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has confirmed that the country's leader will visit Russia on Tuesday and meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"On December 25, Lukashenko will pay a working visit to Russia ... At the talks in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the results of the Belarusian-Russian cooperation in the outgoing year will be summed up, and topical cooperation goals for the near future will be discussed," the presidential press service said in a statement.
The leaders are set to discuss "mutually beneficial relations" in trade and economy, according to the statement.
On Friday, Lukashenko said that he wanted to hold a meeting with Putin soon to discuss the problematic issues of the bilateral relations. The Belarusian president noted that the Russian oil tax maneuver would be the key topic for discussion during the talks.
