Gazprom Not Planning to Give Up Transactions in Dollars, Euros, Pounds - Deputy Chief

Russia's Gazprom energy giant is not planning yet to abandon use of US dollars, euros and GB pounds in transactions with partners, Gazprom Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee Andrey Kruglov said Monday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th December, 2018) Russia's Gazprom energy giant is not planning yet to abandon use of US Dollars, Euros and GB Pounds in transactions with partners, Gazprom Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee Andrey Kruglov said Monday.

"The main currencies that are currently used in transactions with counter parties for the supply of natural gas are the Russian ruble, the US Dollar, the euro and the pound sterling," Kruglov said in an interview with the corporate magazine Gazprom.

"The Gazprom Group is not yet considering giving up any Currency on its contract portfolio, but if necessary, such a decision is possible after an agreement with contract partners and if there is economic feasibility," the official added.

According to Kruglov, traditional financial markets of the United States and the United Kingdom still play the most important role for the company.

"The largest investors in the equities of our company are European and US foundations and banks," the official said.
