LONDON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd December, 2018) London Gatwick Airport said on Friday it had again resumed its flights in the wake of their suspension following new reports of drone sighting in the area.
"Flights have now resumed. Airfield movements were suspended while we investigated this as safety remains our main priority. The military measures we have in place at the airport have provided us with reassurance necessary to re-open our airfield," the airport wrote on Twitter.
The airport originally suspended its flights late on Wednesday as an inquiry was launched into the reports of two drones flying over the airfield. The flights were resumed early on Friday.
However, later on the same day, airfield operations were suspended after the airport again received the reports of drone sighting.
Local police have said that the drone incident at Gatwick Airport was not terrorism-related.
