Govt reviews mobile tax policy, Overseas Pakistanis can bring 5 phones a year

One mobile phone can be registered free of any duty or tax.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 16th December, 2018) The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has given a review policy for Overseas Pakistanis bringing mobile phones.

According to the new policy, the Overseas Pakistanis are allowed to bring five mobile phones in a year. They would have to get them registered within 15 days.

The mobile phones can be registered on the spot at the airport.

One mobile phone can be registered free of any duty or tax.

Joint counters by Customs, Federal board of Revenue (FBR) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) have been established to facilitate the people in this regard.

Moreover, the traders who bring a bulk of phones can sell them after getting them registered. An action against the illegal phones will be taken only after January 31, the deadline for registering imported phones.

The custom officials and airports have been issued the new policy.
