Doha Says No Dialogue Maintained With Countries That Imposed Blockade on Qatar

Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani said on Saturday that there has been no dialogue between Doha and the countries that imposed blockade on the country since the diplomatic crisis broke out.

DOHA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th December, 2018) Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani said on Saturday that there has been no dialogue between Doha and the countries that imposed blockade on the country since the diplomatic crisis broke out.

The situation has been in a stalemate for 18 months, with the absence of any dialogue between the countries during this period, the foreign minister said at the Doha Global Forum.

The diplomat also noted that Doha appreciated the mediation efforts of the emir of Kuwait, Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah.

Qatar has been under a diplomatic and economic blockade since June 2017, when the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt, among others, severed diplomatic relations and communication with Doha, accusing it of supporting terrorism and interfering in their internal affairs. Qatar has refuted the allegations.
