MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th December, 2018) The French police have killed Cherif Chekatt, the suspect in the deadly shooting at a Christmas market in Strasbourg, local media reported on Thursday.
The attack took place on Tuesday. According to the French authorities, two people were dead, while one person was brain dead as a result of the shooting in Strasbourg. Moreover, 12 people have been injured in the incident.
The suspect has been hiding at a warehouse located at the Meinau quarter in the vicinity of the Neudorf neighborhood of Strasbourg, the FranceInfo news outlet reported citing sources.
Earlier on Thursday, the BFMTV broadcaster reported that the police had carried out a new operation in Neudorf, deploying some 720 police officers to locate the suspected gunman.
