NAB lunches inquiry against Marriyum Aurangzeb

The PML-N leader is accused of making illegal appointments in the PID

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 11th December, 2018) The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched an inquiry against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader former information minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.

According to media reports, the PML-N leader is accused of making illegal appointments in the Press Information Department (PID).

Moreover, Marriyum Aurangzeb is accused of misusing her authority while she was the information minister.

The NAB has however initiated an inquiry against the PML-N leader. The anti-graft watchdog will probe into the assets of Marriyum Aurangzeb.

According to NAB spokesperson, the bureau has received complaints against the former minister.

On the same day, the NAB detained Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique in the Paragon Housing case.

The NAB team took them into custody after the Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected their bail plea.

Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday barred Punjab Assembly lawmaker Hamza Shahbaz from travelling abroad.

Hamza Shahbaz was travelling to Doha via Qatar Airlines flight 620.

The FIA placed Hamza’s name in the Exit Control List (ECL) upon NAB's request.
