'No Basis' for Reports Civilians Died in Airstrikes on Syria's Hajin - US-Led Coalition

The US-led coalition has found no evidence that its airstrikes on December 5 on the Syrian city of Hajin in the eastern Deir ez-Zor province resulted in civilian casualties, spokesman Col. Sean Ryan told Sputnik on Friday.

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th December, 2018) The US-led coalition has found no evidence that its airstrikes on December 5 on the Syrian city of Hajin in the eastern Deir ez-Zor province resulted in civilian casualties, spokesman Col. Sean Ryan told Sputnik on Friday.

The Syrian state-run SANA news agency reported on Wednesday that at least five people were killed as a result of the coalition's airstrikes on Hajin.

"The Coalition is finding no basis for these claims," Ryan said when asked to comment on the report.

The US-led coalition regularly carries out airstrikes in eastern Deir ez-Zor province, and has recently been concentrating its air power on Hajin.

Both SANA and the Ikhbariya broadcaster reported earlier on Friday that eight more civilians were killed in fresh US-led coalition's airstrikes on Hajin. All of the killed civilians were members of one family, according to the reports.

The coalition's operations in Syria are not authorized by the government of President Bashar Assad or the United Nations Security Council.
