Iraqi Oil Minister Says Confident New OPEC-Non-OPEC Oil Output Cut Deal To Be Made

VIENNA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th December, 2018) Iraqi Oil Minister Thamir Ghadhban told Sputnik he was sure that the new OPEC-non-OPEC oil production cut agreement would be reached.

While the talks on the new accord between the OPEC states were underway, the countries that were not members of the cartel would join the discussions on Friday, the minister added.

In late 2016, OPEC and non-OPEC states made a deal to cut oil production in a bid to stabilize oil prices. Since then, the agreement has repeatedly been prolonged with the final extension reaching the end of 2018.

The involved countries are currently negotiating the new deal at a meeting in Vienna.
