Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova reiterated on Tuesday that Moscow strictly adheres to the provisions of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty) and Washington knows it well.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 04th December, 2018) Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova reiterated on Tuesday that Moscow strictly adheres to the provisions of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty) and Washington knows it well."Russia strictly abides by the provisions of the INF treaty, and the American side knows this," Zakharva said commenting on statements by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg on the subject.
Pompeo said during a press conference in Brussels earlier in the day that the United States will suspend its adherence to the INF Treaty in 60 days unless Russia returns to full compliance with the agreement.
Stoltenberg later urged Moscow to demonstrate its compliance with the INF, as requested by the United States, to preserve this key arms control agreement between Moscow and Washington.
