Russia's Wheat Export Surges 19.3% Year-on-Year Between July-Nov 29 - Agriculture Ministry

Russia has exported a total of 20.4 million tonnes of wheat between the beginning of the 2018-2019 agricultural year in July and November 29, which corresponds to a 19.3 percent leap year-on-year, the Russian Agriculture Ministry said on Monday, citing data from the Russian Federal Customs Service.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 03rd December, 2018) Russia has exported a total of 20.4 million tonnes of wheat between the beginning of the 2018-2019 agricultural year in July and November 29, which corresponds to a 19.3 percent leap year-on-year, the Russian Agriculture Ministry said on Monday, citing data from the Russian Federal Customs Service.

According to the data, a total of 24.3 million tonnes of grain were exported from the country from July 1, including 2.7 million tonnes of barley and 856,000 tonnes of corn, marking an over 10 percent increase compared to same period of the 2017-2018 agricultural year.

The Agriculture Ministry expects grain exports to total 38 million to 39 million tonnes this agricultural year, including up to 35 million tonnes of wheat. Over the previous period, Russia sold over 52.4 million tonnes of grain, with wheat accounting for more than 40.4 million tonnes.
