Trump Says Not Ruling Out Discussion With Saudi Crown Prince At G20

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st December, 2018) US President Donald Trump told reporters on Friday that he has not yet spoken to Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the G20 Summit both leaders are attending in Argentina, but they may have a conversation at some point.

"We had no discussion," Trump said. "We might, but we had none."

White House Spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Trump and bin Salman "exchanged pleasantries at the leaders session as he did with nearly every leader in attendance."

Earlier this week National Security Advisor John Bolton told reporters Trump had no plans to meet with bin Salman because of his already packed schedule during the summit.

The Saudi Crown Prince has come under fire over the past two months due to the death of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

Khashoggi went missing on October 2 after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, and the Saudi Prosecutor General's Office has since concluded Khashoggi was killed inside the consulate by lethal injection, and that his body had been dismembered and removed from the building.

Last week, US media reported that the CIA concluded bin Salman personally ordered the killing of Khashoggi. Trump said bin Salman could have been aware of plans to murder Khashoggi, but that the United States is determined to remain a committed partner of Saudi Arabia.
