The court rejected the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) appeal for his physical remand and sent him to jail on judicial remand.
Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 29th November, 2018) Former managing director (MD) of Pakistan Television Corporation Dr Shahid Masood has been sent to jail on judicial remand.
The former ptv MD was presented before the court of duty judge Inamullah on Thursday.
The court rejected the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) appeal for his physical remand and sent him to jail on judicial remand.
The Islamabad High Court had on November 24 remanded Dr Shahid Masood into five-day custody of FIA in the PTV corruption case.
Dr Shahid Masood is accused of embezzlement of Rs 37 million in PTV.
He gave broadcast rights of cricket matches to a company and made payments to it. The allegedly fake company was in the business of preparing and supplying food "degs" in Lahore.
The accused was arrested when the IHC dismissed his appeal for bail and he did not appear in the court on his own.
