MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th November, 2018) Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will attend the G20 summit in Argentina, where he would also hold separate meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin, US leader Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, as well as trilateral Japan-US-India summit with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Japanese chief cabinet secretary said on Wednesday.

On November 14, Putin said that his next meeting with the Japanese prime minister would take place at the G20 summit. On Tuesday, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said that Trump would have talks with Abe, adding that a meeting with the Japanese prime minister would "transform at some point" into a trilateral meeting with India's Modi.

"On November 29 - December 4, Prime Minister Abe will attend the G20 summit set to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and then will visit Uruguay and Paraguay. This will become the first visit by the prime minister of Japan to both countries ... [Abe] will use this opportunity to hold talks with other heads of states, including US President Trump, Russian President Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, and there are also plans to hold the Japan-US-India summit with President Trump and Indian Prime Minister Modi," Yoshihide Suga told a briefing.

The official noted that the summit would focus on "frank discussions between the leaders to realize sustainable and inclusive growth of the world economy."

"As Japan will preside next year, we would like to lead the discussion so that the countries participating in the summit can jointly issue a message aimed at the growth of the world economy," Suga said.

He noted that during the visit to Uruguay and Paraguay Abe would focus on "promoting further strengthening of cooperation with Japanese diaspora and further enhancement of bilateral relations."

The G20 summit will be held in Argentina from November 30 to December 1.
