WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th November, 2018) The United States has called on both Moscow and Kiev to engage directly in order to deescalate tensions following the naval incident in the Kerch Strait, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement.
On Sunday, Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said it intercepted three Ukrainian naval ships that illegally entered Russian territorial waters while moving from the Black Sea into the Azov Sea.
"We call on both parties to exercise restraint and abide by their international obligations and commitments," Pompeo said on Monday. "We urge Presidents Poroshenko and Putin to engage directly to resolve this situation."
