There are no reasonable alternatives to cooperation between the European Union and Russia, Russia's Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov said Monday.
BRUSSELS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th November, 2018) There are no reasonable alternatives to cooperation between the European Union and Russia, Russia's Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov said Monday."In today's volatile and highly competitive world, where Russia and the European Union objectively complement each other, there are no wise alternatives to cooperation and unification of potentials," Chizhov said during the European Russian Forum in the European Parliament.
Chizhov noted that previously there were numerous channels through which Russia and the European Union could directly discuss different issues.
"Today, taking into account the high pace of the Eurasian Economic Union's growth, there are good reasons to talk about the 'integration of integrations,' a mutually beneficial, equal, and multidisciplinary cooperation of two interdependent and synergistic global integrating poles," Chizhov concluded.
During the forum, Chizhov recalled that in 2009 Russia proposed a new pan-European security agreement to European partners, who later rejected the idea.
On Monday, the European Parliament is hosting the annual European Russian Forum. This year's event is devoted to the topic of the escalating standoff between Russia and the West.
