Putin Says Russia, India Need to Reduce Barriers in Trade, Investments - Statement

Russia and India have great prospects to expand mutual trade and investments, and, in order to realize this potential, it is necessary to use the tools that have proven to be effective as well as new ones that will create the most comfortable environment for business activity, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a statement greeting the participants of the first Russia-India Strategic Dialogue forum

PETERSBURG (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th November, 2018) Russia and India have great prospects to expand mutual trade and investments, and, in order to realize this potential, it is necessary to use the tools that have proven to be effective as well as new ones that will create the most comfortable environment for business activity, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a statement greeting the participants of the first Russia-India Strategic Dialogue forum.

"Our trade is also demonstrating positive dynamics today this is more evidence of the growing mutual interest of the business circles of Russia and India. We have every opportunity to consistently move forward, strengthen the economic foundation of our relations ... For this purpose, it is important to fully use those tools that are already in place and have proven their effectiveness, and also to look for new solutions, try to eliminate barriers in trade and investment, and to create the most comfortable conditions for the work of enterprises," Putin's welcoming statement, as read by Economic Development Minister Maksim Oreshkin, said.

According to Putin, Russia and India are bound by strong, time-tested traditions of friendship and mutual respect, with the two countries having managed to build a privileged economic partnership based on a trusting and open dialogue on a wide range of issues.

The Russian leader also expressed confidence that annual Russia-India Strategic Dialogue would make a significant contribution in this direction.

The first two-day Russia-India Strategic Dialogue discussion platform opened in St. Petersburg on Sunday. The forum brings together key business figures and government officials from Russia and India. The development of bilateral ties in trade, investment, technology and industry is a key issue on the forum's agenda.
