KIEV (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th November, 2018) Ukrainian Parliament Chairman Andriy Parubiy said that he was convening the parliament's extraordinary meeting at 14.00 GMT on Monday, at which the lawmakers would consider the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to impose martial law in Ukraine.
"In pursuance of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the appeal of the President of Ukraine, on Monday, November 26, 2018, at 16.00 (14.00 GMT), I convene an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," Parubiy wrote on Facebook on Monday night.
Earlier on Monday, the NSDC decided to impose martial law on the territory of Ukraine for a period of 60 days, but the decision must also be approved by the parliament.
