Dead bodies of father, son killed in Chinese Consulate attack handed over to family with delay

The father and son, who had come to the consulate from Quetta to apply for visa, were killed in the attack.

Karachi (Pakistan Point News – 24th November, 2018) The dead bodies of two visa applicants who died in the Chinese Consulate attack in Karachi on Friday have been handed over to the family after a painful delay.

Following reports on media that the dead bodies of father Hazi Niaz Muhammad and son Muhammad Zahir were not being handed over to the heirs, the police got active and completed necessary formalities.

The delay in handing over the dead bodies caused misery to the family. The family of the deceased reached the police station to get the police letter where the brother Habib ur Rehman said that their relatives are in Karachi but the dead bodies are not being handed over to them.

He said that the police is causing a delay in issuing the police letter.

After this was aired on media, the police finally handed over the dead bodies to the aggrieved family.

The father and son from Quetta, who visited the Chinese consulate in Karachi to apply for visa, were killed in the attack.

At least seven people, including two policemen, were killed in an explosion and firing outside the Chinese consulate in Karachi's Clifton Block 4 at around 9:30am on Friday.

Three to four men attempted to enter the Chinese consulate and fired shots before being stopped by security guards.

The security forces deployed outside the Chinese consulate retaliated to the firing and killed all the terrorists in the clearance operation.

Karachi police chief told media that the terrorists had explosive belts and weapons with them.

All the employees of the consulate remained safe in the attack.

The Balochistan Liberation Army, a separatist group in Balochistan, had claimed responsibility for the attack.
