MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd November, 2018) Seoul is hoping that the negotiations with Russia on a free trade zone for services and investment will start in the spring of 2019, the South Korean ambassador to Russia told Sputnik on Friday.
"We have agreements to start the negotiations on a free trade zone in the sphere of services and investments ... We hope to start the negotiations on a free trade zone between our countries soon. We think it is likely to be in spring," Woo Yoon-keun said.
The ambassador explained that the South Korean government had "completed the administrative procedures" and submitted the relevant documents to the parliament for ratification.
"But the Russian side is still at the stage of negotiations in the parliament," Woo said.
Russia and South Korea signed a declaration on the establishment of a free trade zone in June.
