Russia's Rusnano CEO to Skip Davos Forum if Boycott Agreed

Anatoly Chubais, chairman of the Russian state nanotech company Rusnano, said Tuesday he would skip the world economic forum in Davos if Moscow boycotts it.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 13th November, 2018) Anatoly Chubais, chairman of the Russian state nanotech company Rusnano, said Tuesday he would skip the world economic forum in Davos if Moscow boycotts it.

"I was hesitant on whether to go to Davos but I made up my mind after today's announcement by the prime minister. If a decision is made that Russian companies should skip it, I won't go," he said in a comment shared with Sputnik by his press office.

Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg, aluminum tycoon Oleg Deripaska and VTB bank chief executive Andrey Kostin have reportedly been barred from next January's forum in the Swiss resort.

Forum organizers have not commented. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said he had discussed the alleged ban with Swiss President Alain Berset in Palermo, Italy. He warned that Russia could boycott the annual event.
