Russian, Turkish Deputy Foreign Ministers Discuss EU, NATO - Moscow

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko and his Turkish counterpart, Faruk Kaymakci, met in Ankara on Friday for talks on a range of Europe-related issues, the Russian ministry said in a statement.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th November, 2018) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko and his Turkish counterpart, Faruk Kaymakci, met in Ankara on Friday for talks on a range of Europe-related issues, the Russian ministry said in a statement.

"An in-depth opinion exchange was held on Europe-related issues, such as relationship with the European Union, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, the Council of Europe, and [on the need to] increase bilateral cooperation on topical pan-European arenas," the statement reads.

The diplomats brought up continued instability in the Balkans and options for collaboration between Russia, Turkey and countries in the region to improve it and implement economic projects.

The decades-old crisis on Cyprus was also discussed.
