Kaine wins reelection in Virginia Senate race against Republican candidate Corey Stewart, according to the projection on Tuesday.
The projection was based on exit polls taken from voters across the state.
Kaine was the vice presidential running mate to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in her campaign against President Donald Trump in the 2016 election.
